What is the first rule of wisdom?

Keep it simple.

Every step, every thought, and every connection between steps and thoughts - must be simple.

When after a while you look back, you can see that in total for a newbie it is complex. But only in total. Individual steps are just steps.

I agree. Keeping things simple and based on first principles has been a huge factor in personal success for me.

Hilariously modern society is a complete tangle of unnecessary complexity and never holds up to first principles. There are no coincidences.
