I'm not convinced he understands the implications of Real ID, working with Palentir, etc. That isn't to give him an out or a "tRuSt ThE pLaN" appeal. I just imagine that he defers to people who he sees as competent in their fields of expertise on these matters. He isn't thinking deeply about the relationship between privacy and liberty. He is a businessman and treating the federal government like a business that needs to be streamlined and made profitable again. He also asked a Thiel disciple to be his VP and Elon to head up DOGE. Not a shock to see America First technocracy ascendent.
