You’re falling prey to a very inhumane propaganda. Pretty sure that people with disabilities don’t have any jobs that involve security responsibilities. In Austria big corporations need to hire people with disabilities since decades, they only do menial tasks, but have their own income making them a sovereign person and included in society.
Or perhaps you are the one failing for propaganda and anticipating consequences that aren't there. Nobody is going to target the mail boy with Down's. Just like getting rid of the 72 gender stupidity doesn't mean sex changes stop being legally valid and people who *actually* are trans can officially and legally become of the female gender (not sex obviously).
The whole thing is like saying Bitcoin is mainly used for illicit activities, when it’s only a minuscule percentage of all usage. How many people are being triggered by the fact that 1.6% of all people shall receive dignity, puzzles my mind.

Nooo. We voted our way over the last decades. Nooo they can't be mean. Not now. They told us they are the goodies?! Noooooooo.
There's no "non binary". That's the shit that needs to stop. The trans movement has historically been a claim that a tiny number of very afflicted men who suffer from a very specific and very serious psychiatric disorder that puts them at odds with their natural sex be granted a modicum of social and legal compassion and be allowed to legally and officially change their identity. That's not going away, and that's where it stops. All the non binary, demi, pan... bullshit harms these individuals who are actually suffering enormously, as we're seeing now.
As a matter of fact, it is important for the sake of those afflicted with this severe mental disorder, that we go back a little bit and reinstate the historical scientific recognition that they are indeed mental patients who deserve that the medical science continues to find better treatments.
In the meantime, things like allowing males (especially teenagers) to compete in female sports cannot be allowed to continue, because the harm this causes to many women and to the sport itself is completely disproportionate to the good it does to give dignity to the males.
The accommodation must be found, and to a large extent already existed: trans people have long had the main basic legal recognition that they historically claimed for. But it can never be a complete 100% equivalence to women, because they aren't women. This will never change, and this is what the current Trump administration is going to reinstate as official policy. It's a realignment with reality.
And of course, all those who have been grifting and cashing in on made up "identities" by leeching onto the legitimate trans movement are going to need to find better ways to support themselves so we can collectively take care of the ones who actually deserve it.

Due to automation, a lot less of those jobs exist that actually can be usefully done by people with those disabilities. Secondly, part of DEI has been a demand for salary equality. The "mail boy" is a job that was worth a lot less salary than your actual key employees. Demanding equality in salaries messes everything up by forcing hiring to hire unqualified people to jobs they can't do to meet diversity targets.
I'll just say one more thing -- the main problem has never been the tiny percentage of economic "inefficiency" (bottom line numbers) that employing people with disabilities implies.
The problem has proliferated and become unsustainable with the "disability inflation" that we've experienced these past couple of decades in which "being disabled" has become a fashion and politicians and bureaucrats have created an industry around it.
This shit needs to stop, and be reverted. These people are stealing from those who really need it.

It's the FAA – an extremely important federal service involved in life and death services – not a charity. Let them hire based on competence.

The most qualified applicants were in fact bring overlooked in favor of less qualified, more "diverse" applicants.
Now take that line of reasoning and extrapolate it across God knows how many other industries and professions.
