Keep doing you! Getting input from others helps you make an informed decision since you can crowdsource different opinions and viewpoints.
If it's a benefit to you and your goals, use it for what it is; a tool. If it doesn't help you reach your goals, it's dead weight and should be cut loose.
For me, Twitter is a sesspool of what I don't need. So it was easy to discard it. I'll only miss the 3d2a content, but I'm sure they'll be here, in time.
