We might need to check the stats on stolen bitcoin vs. stolen bmws. This seems irrational. The symbols of wealth are pervasive. Criminals want easy targets. They do not want to kidnap, assault or murder when they can fence regular goods all day.

When it comes to organized crime there’s nothing they won’t do for money and if you can steal a BMW find a chop shop sell the parts or the thing as a whole that’s pretty organized IMO again maybe not today but when prices for groceries get to high jobs get even more scarce people still need to feed there kids and if they happen to know someone with bitcoin….
I think this is a bias because we value bitcoin. Most people would have no idea what to look for or how to exchange it. So either you become the target of a very sophisticated criminal who has has to wager on the roi of how many sats they believe you have access to compared the potential consequences or they just hit up anyone who has obvious easily exchangeable goods like any wedding ring.
