The maxmempool setting in your bitcoin.conf file is by default 300 MB. Your node purges low fee tx to limit its mempool to the configured max. You can increase this setting but your node can maybe not handle that.

My node can handle it 😄 it's hosted on my beast docker server with 192GB of RAM and dual Xeons
