When I transfer cash from my balance to another strike user, does a Lightning transaction take place within Strike’s system?

Or is it just an “account balance update” until one of us sends to an external Lightning or on-chain address?

Or does it depend on whether they choose to receive the payment as Bitcoin or USD?

yeah, depends on what currency they are receiving

USD <> USD in the US no need for LN

USD <> BTC we do a BTC/USD conversion

as we roll out other markets like EU, then will get more interesting

Hey Jack, do you plan on rolling out in the middle east? #Lebanon which is undergoing hyperinflation relies heavily on its diaspora sending money from abroad. Mainly USD.
