Taurus, the home of Pleiades and Sirius. It's easy to find it, so long as it's up during the night and not in march-may, when it is close to the position of the sun. Just look for the brightest star, so long as it's not near sunset/sunrise, you will home in on the correct location.

I've always been fascinated by the appearance of the Pleiades, and those who know about stories associated with Atlantis, it is said by some to be the place where the Atlanteans went to wait out until their return.

Looks like Orion is a bad influence on me. I'm itching to see the seven(six) sisters tonight. Fascinating ancient knowledge.

I'm not sure they have the dates right on that one there. 40,000 years ago, a nearby star went nova and zapped the entire oceania/antarctica region with x/gamma/cosmic rays, and led to the white/lactose mutation, which was the precursor to the first high tech civilisation, centered in the region of north africa, where the Sahara is now. The oldest bones found in the world now were found in Morocco:

There sure is something spooky about the Pleiades though. Its layout can be found replicated in several places, one of them being the hills of Plovdiv, in bulgaria, and I believe that the extant great pyramids also match part of the pattern and probably there is others around the world like this, in china, in Bosnia, and a heap of other places.
