Fascinating the response from the Taiwanese "Golden Apollo" manufacturer, one of three commercial manufacturers that shipped booby-trapped pagers to Lebanon.

Apparently every single pager Golden Apollo shipped to Lebanon was sourced separately via a facility in Europe that seems to have specialise in booby-trapped versions.

The attacks were triggered by coded messages targeted on Hizb Allah politicial staff, healthcare workers at Hizb Allah affiliated hospitals, teachers at Hizb Allah affiliated schools and a few others associated with the movement.

But a fair % of the population have been carrying around booby-trapped pagers for years. They just haven't been targeted yet. Terrorism on a truly industrial scale.

Wonder if that could be / has been done by China to smartphones?
