I guess you could also literally post the link to .m3u8 and that should work too...
but its less of an "event" and you could also be posting the same link multiple times so the discussion will be split between multiple threads

Use the event because we can do special things with it (like showing that people are attending an event outside the feed). The app will be able to place it up top, like twitter does with spaces :)
