That's wild. Feels like they never actually say that. It's also more complicated than that I'm sure. A woman will tell you to your face they don't want kids. They will tell their peers they would prefer a career. But what they really want to hear when they tell you they are pregnant is,

"That's wonderful! I'm so excited!"

Women need a man to tell them it's safe to stay at home and have kids and that everything is going to be ok. Then mother instincts kick in.
