I kept my name when I got married, but we gave the kids my husbands name. At the time I thought I was totally cool with that. But now, here in PR the kids are always listed with both of our last names. I didn’t realize that I was bothered by giving the kids only my husbands name until I realized how happy it makes me when I see both of our names listed on their paperwork.
How nice it is to not be ceremoniously forgotten.
would like to have the option of not having a government name, to be honest 😄

We all should have the options of choosing our own name.
More importantly, to have the option for everyone to have the same name.
If you can’t go by John/Jane Doe, it should make you question who benefits from the surveillance.
