Maybe having even less time is why he cares so much

If he knew today was his last day, would he choose to spend it complaining about politicians or would he choose to spend it enjoying time with his family. Would he carve out an hour of his last day to watch Rachel Maddow or Tucker Carlson? Obv not.

If he knew he had two final days... same.

Now, sure, as time stretches out, the value of any given day or any given minute decreases. But the basic principle remains: When time is absolutely precious, focus on the things that really matter.

Though it may more be that while he's feeling good he doesn't WANT things to be any different. It would be reasonable for him to continue to enjoy this temporary "nothing's changed" period before the real trouble starts.

I feel you, I spent so much of my youth not caring about anything and just enjoying life, being in the moment, I miss those days.

Being angry at the systems that you feel oppressed by is never fun, but is sometimes forced upon you. You have no choice.

Yoga, meditation and communal activities may help

You are absolutely missing the point. It is not about "not caring about anything" but caring about what really matters.

Each and everyone can do a lot within our family, friends or community. Asking them to turn the TV off is a good starting point.

No politician or party will save you from anything. They don't care about you. Refuse to choose between 2 sides of the same rotten coin

You don’t get it bro it’s fine

Stop judging for understanding the alternate perspective

I honestly wonder now if I was being a shitty friend by not indulging in his political-hatred-as-hobby.

It's his time. Even if I disagree, I have to at least acknowledge that it's his decision for how he wants to spend it.

You got my zaps right?
