The day before the Africa Bitcoin conference in Nairobi I took the opportunity to address the women at the Satoshi Sisters Brunch organized by Charlene Fadirepo not to wait for their government to „legalize“ Bitcoin, as it’s not illegal, but to start now to use and save it. On my journeys in African countries I speak with many people and their first questions are: „is it not as scam? Is it legal?“

It's baffling that this happens. Was this their takeaway from something that happened in the past so they would rather wait for permission from their government?
Lots of people wait for permission or approval before they act on a decision. Kids nearly always wait for approval or permission from adults, and it is only when they become teenagers that they start acting on decisions for which they have received no approval. I think the majority of humans are in this sense followers rather than leaders.
I think it comes from the fact that the majority of ppl and media believe BTC is an investment asset only. And as stocks are regulated they wait for regulations towards bitcoin. They don’t know that it’s actually a good that you can barter, which defines money.
nope
It's because the majority (midtards, specifically the majority whose lives are photocopies of other people's real lives, fashion, ideas, etc.) won't do anything until it hits a "safe" critical mass so they can be the same as everyone else.
oops... did I just say it out loud?
