On nostr we had a lot of people at one point and devs placed themselves as someone to follow but then most left and were left with some really skewed stats that are not even remotely close representation of actual nostr user base.

i'm not concerned with follower count at all or inflated metrics. i regularly delete accounts. its more so just the annoyance of notification spam from people following and then unfollowing the next day. its an annoying gaming of the system. example: npub10stmgzyf6yeqs00wru0s3lmu262jd5x6g6l6dam7k5warff0qj9q4y25jt
