I think the Amish are the true cypherpunks. This community is completely off line, self sovereign, lives off the land and all that shit that all these bitcoin podcasts say they want.

Fair point. But why bother. Their lives have been fine without it. In fact they are probably thriving more than us. They aren't addicted to checking their updates, net worth, emails, texts, etc. They live outside the realm of technology and to me that is awesome and a goal I try to inch closer to every year.

They have almost completely opted out of the system, but they are also facing the issues of fiat. The children of the Amish can’t afford to be landowners and often only the eldest son will receive the land inheritance.
