What are your thoughts on allocating sats to the Lightning network to earn fees?

You will earn fees unless you are incompetent.

You will not make a profit. It isn't impossible, just unlikely. If you do make a profit, expect it to be on the scale of a small nostr accounts zaps.

Do it anyway. Sovereignty and knowledge matter. Prioritize channels with members of your local meetup.

Buying and selling locally produced products over lightning direct on your open channel with the other party who you know in person is currently peak bitcoin. It has been for a while no matter bitcoin xitter is excited about today.

I don't do local meetups. I would probably allocate it somewhere profit is most likely. I'm not fucking with Lightning for no reason. This stuff needs to get profitable or die. That's nature and the only way freedom will ever scale to humanity. Any donations of my time and energy are limited to helping educate others, donating to projects, and providing feedback. I appreciate your input. It doesn't sound like something I'll do at an individual scale.

Not really. Stubborn people building the world they want to live in regardless of short term profit or outside approval but only because it matters to them to live in that future world. That is what has really driven society forward.

You can't help others unless you know how to do the thing and you can't really know how unless you have done it yourself.

I'd hire basically any engineer who had run a home LN node over one who hadn't if I needed to hire for a larger node.
