monero has a strong following on the darkweb, which is why its value has tracked very stable against the dollar, because traders peg their prices to it
but they are fanatics, and are blind to the fact that their token is not a store of value, only a means of payment, which means that nobody holds it and thus the supply rate is never going to fall below demand which means it can't become reserve asset and without that, it can't really become money!
i don't criticise the whole business because i'm a meany or i hate them or anything, they literally don't understand why they don't get better adoption, they don't understand that all kinds of factors come into play about why it is not remotely at risk of competing with bitcoin, and never will be, and efforts wasted on promoting it and developing it are a loss to the primary cause, which is to take control of money out of the hands of government and the oligarchies that control government
that's it, that's the whole problem
