I may be wrong meshtastic is lora, but not all lora is meshtastic

I'm just barely getting into this stuff, but I think LoRa is the protocol (or transmission band), and #mesthtastic is a software/network that runs on it. But ?

I think that is correct, 900mhz to 930mhz (for US) isn't necessarily Lora I also believe
