One benefit to the hightunnel I had not considered is being able to make compost through the winter. It went down to -18C last evening but today inside the pile the red wigglers are still active. The size of the pile is of course important as it is freezing in the hightunnel at night.

Awesome. I heard that Sepp Holzer only uses his greenhouse to raise worms.

Are you growing crops in the high tunnel? Do you start plants in there or grow them in the tunnel? The tunnel is right where you need compost, nice function stack.

Ya It was my first season with the hightunnel last year. I grew a little of everything, it was extra helpful with the eggplants and peppers, the extra two months gave me a lot more of those warm weather crops.
