it has rubbed me the wrong way for years how poor america's food supply is (ON AVERAGE) compared to, say, europe.

i was recently in italy and was fucking blown away by the quality--even the cheap street food is decent and doesn't nuke your guts.

america has so much potential: we have so much available space to raise high-quality crops, ruminants, hogs, chickens, literally anything we want.

our limiting factors are: corn/soy subsidies which over time have drastically depleted our top soil quantity and quality.

(not going to get into corporate interests here, but IMO those are aligned with/lobby for the shitty subsidies)

BUT there is hope. there are regen ag operations responsibly running ruminants and completely revitalizing formerly bastardized crop fields.

it is possible to restore our glory and live up to the land's potential--we simlpy need to harness and activate the collective will to do so.

You can thank fiat money for this.

Short term profits chasing, to keep up with the debasement of currency, is and important factor in all this.

i think fiat is a component, but disagree with "short term profit chasing"

those who benefit from the subsidies have benefitted for a LONG time.
