It worked! Had the kit, haven't had to use it yet. I had to smack it with a hammer to get it in there. You basically rub this abrasive round thing in through the hole and resurface it a little bit and then push this plug through and then pull back and then cut the excess. I add a splash of a good adhesive before pushing the plug through. over-engineer it.

Good idea with the splash of adhesive. Motorcycle tires I've plugged usually develop a slow leak.. typically end up adding air every couple of weeks..

Some of the little repair kits even come with some kind of rubber adhesive that you dab on there. It's where I got the idea. They don't all come with it though.
