Do you recommend Obtanium over F-Droid for someone with a de-Googled phone? I'm assuming you want people to choose the Google play repository instead of the f-Droid one, if using Obtanium?

The PlayStore Catalog is controlled by Google. The F-droid catalog is controlled by F-Droid. Both are extremely centralized.

Obtainium downloads apps directly from the source. There is no catalog. It's way better for decentralization than F-Droid or GPlay.

I see many advantages with that, then. Only disadvantage may be the peace of mind that f-droid/Google have vetted it, but like you say, that comes with centralisation..
