Tim May, Eric Hughes, and Hal Finney built anonymity tools, cryptographic protocols, the conceptual foundations of digital cash. They didn’t pontificate about freedom while their financial sovereignty sat in custodial wallets.

Today’s cypherpunk bitcoiner understands this viscerally. You run your own node because trusting someone else’s verification is trusting someone else’s truth. You use Lightning channels you’ve opened yourself. You generate seeds offline on airgapped devices. You understand that self custody isn’t paranoia. it’s the entire point.
