Good evening #Nostr
Today I got, for all intends and purposes, jebaited. I wanted to buy a SanDisk SuperFit USB drive to plug into my home server to have storage for Bitcoind's initial download. So, when I went to town, I had to learn that the information on the store's website was outdated; the article was no longer in stock, since a while no less.
When I then tried to travel to another tech store across town, I ended up taking the wrong bus; because *technically* that store is in a different town... but it and the one I was in BOTH have a street with the EXACT SAME name! So I traveled in the complete wrong direction and when I wanted to correct course, it was already 4pm ... and I had been on the go since noon, so a good four hours by then. The travel would've taken another 1h30 and I was not guaranteed that they had the stick in stock either.
So, I gave up, bought an energy drink at the train station, and went home.
Sad thing is, I have the most neccessary tools prepped - even my bitcoind.conf and lnd.conf are already ready to go and i commented out an entry in my fstab to mount the bloody thing D: So now I have to travel again tomorrow.
To summarize: All I gained was a sunburn and a crapton of walking. It is now nearly 7pm and I am finally home.
Only good thing: NIP-173 (Communities) changed from draft to merge-able, meaning that I can soon kick my Lemmy instance off my VPS too.
Still though. Today was a waste. -v-
