The Biden administration has implemented several tariffs targeting Chinese imports:

Electric Vehicles (EVs): In May 2024, tariffs on Chinese-made EVs were increased from 25% to 100%, effectively quadrupling the previous rate.

Lithium-Ion Batteries: Tariffs on lithium-ion EV batteries from China rose from 7.5% to 25% in 2024.

Semiconductors: Tariffs on Chinese semiconductors were doubled from 25% to 50%.

Solar Cells: Tariffs on photovoltaic cells used in solar panels were increased from 25% to 50%.

Steel and Aluminum: Tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum products were raised to 25%.

Medical Supplies: Tariffs on certain Chinese medical supplies, including rubber medical and surgical gloves, are set to increase from 7.5% to 25% by 2026.

These measures aim to protect U.S. industries from unfair trade practices and reduce reliance on Chinese imports.

so Trump is going to make that worse?
