forever amazed that the inter-block time is ~10mins UNLESS i am sending a transaction.. then it’s something like 40mins.

No worries, next block will arrive in ~10 minutes😉
On the other hand i got lucky with chan opening several times recently where 3 confirmations happened within 10mins
