Something I've always found funny, from the psychological point of view, is the social media phenomenon by which average and below-average users in terms of follower number seem to feel compelled to repost the notes or content from the top users that basically all their followers are already following.
When I repost someone, it's because I think they deserve more attention and recognition AND I think it likely that my action can bring them some because our followers may not overlap completely, or maybe because they can benefit from a delayed repost.
Example here on Nostr: people reposting Jack's notes. Like, really? What is it you're really doing there?
It's not even a criticism. As I said it's a behavior I find extremely peculiar and amusing.
I have some theories as to why, of course, but I'm satisfied with just bringing your attention to it and letting you come up with your own theories too.
