I've been rugged by just about every online community I've ever been part of. It starts out great, then slowly bad decisions are made, and all the friends, connections, and the community you made are gone, replaced by a hollow shell of what it used to be. All the effort to create and connect is wasted.

Nostr solves this specific problem. The connections, friends, and communities exist outside of any one app or site. They are portable in a way not possible with legacy social media. The way your key enables you to log in anywhere, and have access to all your data *is the killer app* of Nostr. It's just hard to explain it without using it.
