Yea, it looks like some tor issue.
You are using the latest stable version or the beta version?
Can you try the beta version to see if you have the same issue?

I was using the stable.
Updated to version 3.4.2-free
I tried this verison of Amber with and without tor/orbot and it doesn't let me add any relay. Gives me an EACCESS error permission denied
I updated orbot added citrine, amber and amethsyt to orbot apps
Added amber to use tor/orbot
Added amethyst to tor/orbot
closed out apps
restarted phone
checked orbot connected
Amber shows red badge upper right corner and says there is proxy error and to check proxy settings.
Orbot is set to defaults and 9050
But it didn't work without all the tor either? Can't add a relay.
Can you try removing the network permission and then allowing it again, I just managed to reproduce the message with the network permission denied
With the proxy disabled I got another message
