I'd keep WoS for receiving. Zeus has a self custody LN URL solution coming soon.

For zapping I prefer WoS too (it's quick & reliable). Phoenix (non custodial) is good too but 4 sats per transaction adds up.

There's so much cool stuff in the works for lightning now.

How does WoS get away with 0 fees?

It doesn't - as a node it's fees are quite low though.

Each LN node sets it's fees & a payment may need to go through several nodes. If you have a direct connection to a node, the fees are always zero.

A node sets it's base (per Tx) fee and a volume (per sat) fee. Your Phoenix wallet is a mini node connected to the ACINQ node, so all traffic runs through ACINQ.

I'd wager that WoS makes most of its revenue moving sats on & off chain. It also makes money as a Bitcoin only exchange.
