Good evening,
Now that you may know what Free Software is, how about some recommendations for Free Software?
For my first recommendation, since I am a musical composer, there are several I could go for. The one I use is Ardour (https://ardour.org), which is fully featured in terms of what you can do with it. You can build the program from the source code, or pay as low as $1 USD a month, or $45-$50 USD for the binaries for Mac, Windows (Unsigned) and GNU/Linux (2009 or later, X11 required and no NixOS support).
The features (https://ardour.org/features.html) are too extensive for me to cover here, so the link provided for that should work. I'm using Ardour 7.5 from the Ubuntu Studio backport repository PPA, but I'd recommend supporting the developers through paying for the binaries.
The license for Ardour is GNU General Public License (GPL) Version 2 for those wondering. You're welcome.
