The difference is 9/11 all came out much later. I remember going through the LetsRollForums and seeing all the details about Silverstein’s Insurance policy on the towers he’d just bought, the airline shorts etc literally a few years later.

This is all coming out within days and people are already paying attention.

Gonna be interesting to see how people treat this.
