That’s the single best way to broach the subject of how fucked our money is.

I was in the grocery store today and ears of corn are packaged 5 for $5 for this weekend. Nuts. Seriously considering growing corn next year.

Also noticed that Wrigley's gum at some point switched to labeling something like "only 50¢" where it used to be 25, and before that I'm pretty sure it was 15, and I'm sure someone will chime in that it was a nickel back in the day.

That’s why you start with when they were kids. Somehow everyone knows what a treat cost when we were kids, and they know it’s way more today than all those years ago.

Really hard to blame that multiple on Putin’s price hike when it’s been going up every year for decades!
