It’s been a while since I read Tim Ferriss’ books. In one of them, he discusses a practice where when considering a task to work on, he’ll ask himself, “what if this was easy?” Rather than overcomplicating the work to be done towards the goal, he thinks about how he could get the work done in a low-barrier-to-entry sort of way.
I struggle to do that myself. I’ve always been an overthinker, turning mole hills into mountains and such. But I think it would benefit me to take some time with that question when it comes to story writing, which I’ve been avoiding, as well as other projects that get kicked down the road for future me to feel bad about later. Even small steps add up to distance traveled toward a goal.
