I personally prefer a mix of things. For example the vegetable garden bottom left it's too big for me. Less vegetables, more chickens/eggs, more solar panels with some asic running during sunny days. Manual labor means do something to take care of house, food and family. You can automatize something if you're smart.

I just find it odd that man took 1,000s of years to leave the wilderness and increase our time yet people fantasize about going back and making life way harder again.

Plus growing your own food works until we have an event that wipes you out.

In the last years we moved in the wrong direction, against our nature imho. I would love to touch more grass, stay out in the sun, take personally care of what I eat, do manual stuff to improve my lifestyle, automate etc. It's not wilderness it's about live good life with the modern tools we have.

I know that in a completely free market people specialize themself so probably food and stuff at local store will be better in quality than mine but while I can and it's not too hard for me I prefer to do something myself.

Yeah but some people love the city. Cities are fantastic places. Shouldn’t let the current events make cities seem undesirable
