Most people believe what they want to believe, not what is best supported. It is more about comfort and convenience than a search for truth or logic.

reminds me of the old saying about an uncomfortable truth over a comfortable lie. Right now I am having to tell people I love very much uncomfortable truths. I could just go along with them and that would be easier but I feel called to preach the truth to them.
Me, too and they so desperately want to believe the comfortable lie.
