Question is it ok to deposit in the onchain wallet until I have an amount that I feel is large enough before opening a channel ? Because I have read not to open a channel smaller than 1 million sats. Any advice?
Yes, though be mindful, the more UTXOs involved in a channel open, the more expensive it will be.
At least fees are low at the moment.
