Nostr was and is the one reliable protocol to steer clear of the Censorship Mafia on X. really eliminates the need to jockey over control of a platform because even a private ownership structure lends itself toward bias. ad and engagement based monetization models don't make things any better, especially if a select group is being paid for their promotion of a singular algorithm.

I still believe that Nostr as the underlying protocol of X would be a spectacular thing for free speech, no promotion necessary.
