How to end world hunger:
1. Create 1 npub for the homeless in your area
2. Set up a live stream camera on a vending machine
3. Fill the vending machine with non-perishable food
3. Hook up the vending machine to zaps⚡️
4. Start a livestream on nostr of your vending machine
5. Zap and Watch live, food being paid for by people around the world, for people in need

What food is not perishable?
Salt
Plenty of canned food, soups, tuna, vegetables, protein bars. You can even add in needed supplies like socks, soap, etc
And I’m using “vending machine” for lack of better word. There may even be something better for this type of application that’s more simple and less costly to securely distribute goods

It’s usually cooked already but I really appreciate you playing devils advocate on my ideas. Sometimes I jump the gun on these things and can always use someone to ground me. My idea here It’s definitely not a perfect solution. But we can certainly keep thinking here

Yup. Just as if you were there handing the person in need some food. I understand privacy concerns but I’m thinking having these vending machines in a food bank (which have security cameras running all day anyway) or on the street, which any one can record from
I would rather of course if they have smart phones made all work and setup those vending machines and than stop there. It is possible to track transactions and all those people can have one or two penalties.( Meaning you can only but what's there and you can't gamble or whatever do.) All this thing with camera monitoring for me personally if very disrespectful.
If I would donate any sats it would be from my heart and won't look at what's happening there as majority would do the same. For those curious or those who think it's only right to spend donated at those machines let's make monitoring more descrete.
You can already donate Bitcoin to charities and not see the results of your donation. But they probably sell it for fiat to buy food. I know your concern is out of good faith, but I don’t think it would capture as many people to help what they don’t see is out there

I would love to do something like this but how do we set up a vending machine with zaps to pay?
Run a small private relay in the machine instead of a card reader. It records all zaps and then can execute a command to the vending machine to release the food.

You got me thinking of just converting a shipping container into a giant vending machine/ recycling center. Lots of homeless people recycle for cuck bucks. What if they could recycle and earn sats then zap ⚡️ the vending machine for food, water, and clothes. Plop these containers all over the Bay Aera and Skidrow. Could even throw in a porta potty 🚽 with a sink.

There's multiple "free pantries" within walking distance of me, always stocked with non-perishables.
Why would people hang around a vending machine, waiting for food to get paid for, when they could simply take the free food?
