The scientific method eliminates the need for "belief". Based on it, those two (very broad) theories are used as frameworks to give a variety of answers.

Some are more plausible than others, but all of them more likely than a magic spirit man in the sky meddling in the affairs of men.

The point is that because we do not "believe" in evolution and the big bang, we keep applying the scientific method to them and we keep making progress.

It is a best answer so far. It made testable predictions that came true. It explains a lot of funny things neatly. But there is slack in the particulars, and a better and completely different answer could always supplant it.

That's precisely my point.

If you follow the scientific method, which has rendered the frameworks of evolution and big bang, which give a variety of specific answers, some more plausible than others and often in contradiction, the expectation is that eventually we will have a change of paradigm.

That's the exact opposite of "belief", "faith" and the whole religious mindset, which is immutable and absolute by definition.
