Running snort.social with ln.tips through telegram as my lightning provider. Shows up like this, bottom left is the sats tipped and who did it.

Yes. Because it has an open social graph. You can't automatically hook into stackernews' user base. Any plen with an entrepreneur mindset is scrambling to figure out how to leverage this. Me? I wanna kill meetup.
