Holy shit, I wanted to open new channel.

But it’s worth at this price?

its generally worth it if you know you'll be doing at least 4 spending transactions

Definitely I will have some spending transactions on #Nostr or on Corny 🌽

But also it should be like “stacking node” since I got little incomes in sats.

I will be transferring some sats to my cold storage on main chain after fulfilling the WholeCoinJourney node.

As I said on corn, I wanted to open 500k channel and then sending to my hardware wallet some bigger UTXO’s from that channel.

But since I can’t afford 500k channel now, there is question if I should rather wait and risk that price will go higher, or open channel with 200k capacity. If this channel be fulfilled, I could send 100k UTXO to main chain.

Or just do custodial service thinks, and wait till I can afford bigger channels on my own? But that is kinda opposite of #Bitcoin étos.

What do you think Vic please, is that 100k enough as a UTXO? Thx G 🫡♥️

My daily income in sats is like 120sats/day, but I want to grow it to smthn like 2000sats/day with my miners that should arrive soon.

Btw have a great day boss 🕊️

Breez alows you to store 125k 丰

100k is a very small UTXO. While they exist, I don't recommend of that size because higher fees in future could use substantial percentage of value.

One alternative that some people do is use Liquid as a go between. This allows you to swap funds out of lightning via something like boltz.exchange, to an address you control, and then later consolidate those liquid transactions to a larger layer 1 bitcoin UTXO.

You really need to look trough your total costs though, whether paying swap fees, or considering current mempool fees, or future fees. I make an assumption that any UTXO may cost upwards of 50000 sats to spend in a high fee environment, and dont want to be trapped in an unspendable position.

Why not, it is the SATs that makes the channel size not the fiat value

Yeah, but you need more fiat to open standard size channels 🤣
