Posted a bbc article with my tweet. Wasn’t able to send it until I removed the article preview. This tweet will probably gain less traction as well (and already is in terms of view compared to my other tweets).

Tired of relying on a CEO’s mood (Musk no likey BBC) to determine what I can and cannot post.

Thank god for #nostr

Wait, has he blocked the BBC now?

No, but with them and a few other posts I’ve made where I’ve used the term domestic terrorist or used other media outlets on his naughty list (NPR) twitter makes posting a tweet very difficult. It will say “failed to post” even if I try 10 times. But if I edit the tweet removing the image preview from the tweet, it posts immediately. Also my views on that tweet are like 1/5th what they usually are bc I have the bbc article linked. So it’s a bit of censorship, yes, for sure.

Gross.

To start with an aside, I think he should practice what he preaches and label Tesla and Space X as government funded companies.

Having gotten that out of the way, I always come back to JP Morgan's quote, "a man always had two reasons for doing a thing: a good reason and the real reason".

My thought is as follows:

Elon's good reason for labeling media as such is that he wants transparency and truth. The real reason is he's said in the past he wants Twitter to be the everything app, which would include being the sole source of journalistic truth. One can only accomplish this by alienating all other media outlets, which he's been very active in doing, and these labels are just part of his censorship attack.

Not defending a lot of the bs that the media publishes, but what I disagree with what he's doing on those grounds.
