Why are building circular #bitcoin economies important?
I'm onboarding some activists to Bitcoin, the most common question is, "how I spend this Bitcoin for real money". For many people scam fiat is "real money". Everyday people need to be able to spend their Bitcoin for it to be useful to them. We have to push more merchant adoption for bitcoin to be truly seen as "real money. 
I like Bitcoin, but I'm not skilled and not yet confident to start my own business, either in trading or services, ha ha ha . . .
One day, BTC will be used accross nation and civilizations
Many seek out Store of value, while many need Medium of exchange as you point out.
Everyone should be coming for system of non-control — or moving away from the increasing system of control.
