Primarily due to competitive air travel, it's a tough sell.

Logistically, the necessary rail is in place, but since the post-ww2 era, air and the autonomy of the automobile have resigned culturally.

The culture is where the lasting change would need to be.

Yeah true facts. Refer to my comments to Derek about my personal detest of US car culture. I understand it's definitely a cultural thing.

i might not be a massive fan of cars but i understand that with the sheer amount of space that the US has they make more sense than trains or other forms of mass trasit.

Especially anywhere outside of 75 miles of all three coasts.
