But all that matters is that kids can read something and do a little math...otherwise how will they understand the orders of the govt and how to calculate how much UBI they have to spend this month?

I am grateful that the public school system taught and encouraged critical thinking, in addition to the standard rote memorization and regurgitation, when I attended. A bygone era.
