the idea of having money not made by "the government".

At the time that was a completely new concept to me and it was my entrance into the rabbit hole

Just out of curiousity or for any specific reason it was appealing to have money not from government?

just curiosity. I had no need for bitcoin (or didn't know yet I needed it).

I just discovered it by chance

as most people, I knew nothing about money and everything seemed normal to me before bitcoin
