New learning. Amethyst seems to be able to open way more relay connections when using Tor. Regular connections are heavier (7x worse) than SOCKs connections through Tor.
Right now, Tor is the thing enabling ~200 Relay connections on my phone.

Is this cause the socks connections donβt have to be encrypted or something?

It's slower, but it connects to more relays. So...
Could be a caching issue. I saw another nostr client making tons of redundant connections to relays β maybe the code you're using for SOCKs is reducing waste?
