Quote replies amplifies the post AND comments on it. OP sees them, but so do more people.

Without an algorithm feeding us certain replies, content in just replies is very hard to discover nostr:note12cs329nyycua40tn9lnqx5ywxa6pq03ky0nuufhze0lm94uhtlnqtexg9k

Also, coracle doesn't let you repost a note unless it's a quote post

The problem is that quotes aren’t always seen by the OP. It depends on the client.

I never thought about this. Damus shows them. It seems like a design flaw not to show them to OP. But I would get your frustration if that were happening to you

I find it’s hit or miss, and I don’t know which clients do it “correctly” or if there even is a correct way, per se. But there are many times I don’t see that someone quoted my note unless I happen to scroll by it. Lol. If they’re simply sharing a thought using my note as a reference, that’s not as big of a problem. But if they’re using quotes as replies, I’ll never know I need to respond, and after enough quote replies it fragments the conversation to the point of not being able to follow it any more.
